BSSC 2004 Annual Meeting - St. Louis Missouri



The Code Resource Support Committee (CRSC) met the morning of the Annual Meeting kick-off to deliberate BSSC's position on code changes for the upcoming hearings in Overland Park, Kansas.

Meeting participants worked up an appetite and a delicious lunch was served and enjoyed by all.

The BSSC Board met in conjunction with the annual meeting electing Jim Sealy, FAIA, new Chair with David Bonneville, SE, remaining Vice Chair and Charles Carter, PE, Secretary. New members elected were Ronald Piester of New York State Department and Robert Thomas with the National Concrete Masonry Association. Gregg Borchelt retired from the board and Henry Green, Jim Rinner, James Rossberg, and Jeffrey Sciaudone were relected. View the BSSC Board.

 


Laughter was heard as old friends met and new friendships were forged at the reception prior to the awards banquet.

Right - Mr. Gregg Borchelt of the Brick Industry Association, retired from the BSSC Board after six years of service.


Left - In honor of BSSC's 25th Anniversary a special cake was presented at dessert time.

Right - As incoming and outgoing Chairs, Mr. Sealy and Mr. Thornton did the honors of cutting the anniversary cake.


Consulting Engineer Robert Bachman was visibly delighted in receiving the BSSC Honor Award. Presenting the award was incoming BSSC Chair Jim Sealy (left) and Gregg Borchelt (right), Chair of the Nominations Committee.

E.V. Leyendecker, USGS (center) received the Exceptional Service Award. On his left stands Gregg Borchelt, and on the right outgoing BSSC Chair Charlie Thornton.

Upon completion of the PUC cycle, the two-year term as Technical Subcommittee Chair ends for Maury Power (center), Dan Shapiro, John Gillengerten, And Roberto Leon. Only Mr. Power was able to attend the award event.

Michael Mahoney of FEMA/DHS handed out NEHRP denim shirts to deserving individuals for their contributions to the National Earthquake Hazard Reduction Program. The recipients proudly display their shirts below.
